Neurodivergent Friendly & Life-Plan Mapping School That Prepares Students For Real Life
I love neurodivergent kids and their superpowers. I have 2 advanced degrees, and a teaching license. The school year extends into June to enable regular breaks, giving students a week off after 4 weeks to help their brains have a chance to retain what they have learned and to help keep the spread of classroom illness to a minimum. We will have 9 extended days for field trips to museums and other sites as we do hands-on learning through exploration, the scientific method, and volunteering. I have experience tutoring music, voice, higher math and science and have lots of hands-on and game based methods for teaching these topics. All higher grade students will start out the year determining a few potential career paths and we will map out their educational trajectories accordingly. They are allowed to change this plan mid year or year to year, but students who have want to work in the trades will be guided towards trades and provided with opportunities for networking and letters of recommendation. Students who want careers tied to higher education will explore different paths to obtain said higher education. The higher aged class includes High School.
