Hi, I'm Heather Fontenot, founder of Heart Filled Academy. With over seven years of teaching experience in charter schools and two years guiding students at a Prenda microschool, I've seen how personalized learning helps children thrive. My inspiration for Heart Filled Academy is deeply personal. I'm the proud mom of my son, Benjamin, who is autistic. As his mother, I experienced the challenges of finding a school where he would be truly understood, supported, and celebrated for who he is. Navigating services, advocating for his needs, and searching for the right educational environment showed me how many families face the same journey. I founded Heart Filled Academy to create the school I wished existed for Benjamin, a place where autistic and neurodiverse learners feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential. Here, every child is seen as an individual with unique strengths, and every family is welcomed as a partner. My mission is simple: to provide a compassionate, individualized learning environment where every child can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
