Mycheille Schupbach-norvell
I am a passionate teacher, author, and homeschool mom. I struggled with dyslexia as a child, though at the time it wasn't known that it was an issue. Around the fifth grade, I became frustrated with myself and my lack of ability. I felt like something was wrong with me, and I hit a crossroads: I could either accept that frustration and let it rule me, or I could flip the script and prove to myself that I could do more. From that day on, I started reading every single day, forcing myself to focus, forcing myself try. By the time I was in the 7th grade, I went from reading one single chapter book in 4 months, to reading that book in 3 weeks, and then 3 days. Something finally clicked, and everything else seemed to flow after that. I fell in love with reading and writing, and that year, I even fell in love with math.
