My goal is to help students' love to learn, so they can become lifetime learners.
Teaching and caring for children has always been my passion. I began working as a nanny in my early teens, which sparked a lifelong commitment to children and education. I later earned a degree in education and chose to homeschool my seven children, an experience I have continued for more than 13 years. In 2019, I was introduced to Prenda and felt connected with its mission to empower learners. I believe education should enrich students’ lives rather than feel like a burden. My goal as an educator is to help students develop confidence, curiosity, and a genuine love of learning. As I enter my 8th year as a Prenda Guide for the 2026–2027 school year, I continue to align deeply with Prenda’s core values: Start with Heart, Figure It Out, Learning Over Comfort, Foundation of Trust, and Dare Greatly. These values guide our daily reflection, learning, and community culture in my microschool. Our learning environment is mastery and inquiry-based. This includes field trips, enrichment classes such as tennis, sewing, ceramics, music, arts, crafts, and programming. By fostering autonomy and curiosity, I strive to help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
