Roots Nature Academy was founded by Taylor Wells, M.Ed., and Amanda Martin, BA. Our microschool is a warm, joyful learning community where every child feels known, valued, and supported. We blend project-based learning with the creativity and collaboration inspired by Reggio Emilia, and the independence and purposeful work encouraged in Montessori environments. Children learn through hands-on exploration, meaningful projects, and experiences that spark curiosity and confidence. With support from Prenda, each student follows a personalized academic path. Children learn at their own pace, set goals, and take ownership of their progress while being guided by caring adults who understand their unique strengths. Families choose our microschool because it offers small group learning, strong relationships, beautiful and inviting spaces, and a whole child approach that nurtures independence, creativity, and empathy. Here, children wake up excited for school and discover that learning can be joyful, meaningful, and deeply empowering.
