Bringing Joy Back to Learning for K–2 Learners
I’ve spent 28 years working with kids—from kindergarten through middle school—in both public and charter schools in Texas and Arizona. Along the way, I’ve been a teacher, mentor, team lead, cheer coach, and even a music teacher. I hold a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a focus on reading, and I love helping young learners build strong, confident foundations. I’ve also led Girl Scouts and church groups, creating spaces where kids feel supported, valued, and free to be themselves. I started my Prenda microschool to bring the fun back to learning. With a smaller group of K–2 learners, I get to focus on what matters most—helping kids love learning. We build strong reading skills, explore creativity through music and art, make math fun and useful, and follow our curiosity in science and history. You’ll often find us on field trips or working on service projects, because we believe learning happens everywhere—and helping others matters. I love that Prenda gives us both structure and freedom, so each child can grow at their own pace in a joyful, low-stress environment.
